2023 Running Club

Registration for our 2023 Running Club is now open!  It is open to 3rd-6th graders residing in the Spanish Fort feeder pattern.  Limited spots available so please don't wait to sign up if you're interested.

The first practice will be on Saturday, January 7th at 9a at the SFHS Track.

Please see information below from Coach Loren regarding the first practice.

  • They will be running on Saturday, so make sure your Toro starts drinking water starting on Friday so they are adequately hydrated. I would like to do a timed mile to see where they are at running wise
  • Make sure they are dressed for the weather. You know your child best, so if they get hot easily, dress them in layers that are easy to remove
  • Running shoes are a must. I want to protect our little Toros from injury, so please make sure they are some form of running shoe
  • WATER, WATER, WATER! Please make sure your child has their own water bottle that is filled. I know my own children can drink a 16 oz bottle in under an hour, so it may be worth bringing up to 32 oz of water.

If you are not able to make this practice, that is totally fine! I will send follow-up information after practice on Saturday. Wednesday night practices will be at Integrity Park, practices will start at 5:30 by the concession stand. ALL PRACTICES ARE OPTIONAL. There is no pressure with this club; I just want to introduce our Toros to running, work on their form, and most of all – have fun! I look forward to meeting you on Saturday.
